I am Dr. Yun Chen, the founder and director of Dr. Chen Psychological Service.

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, chronic pain, trauma, OCD, and relationship distress. My practice is intentionally small and specialized, serving clients who are seeking doctoral-level care that is thoughtful, personalized, and grounded in approaches such as CBT, ACT, and behavioral activation. I also bring a transcultural perspective to therapy and offer sessions in English and Mandarin Chinese.

Clinical Approach & Background

I practice evidence-based psychotherapy, with particular emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and exposure and response prevention (ERP), while integrating skills from other schools of psychology, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I also have extensive experience working with couples, drawing on cognitive behavioral couple therapy (CBCT) and emotionally focused therapy (EFT) to help partners strengthen their relationship under stress.

At Yeshiva University, I am an adjunct clinical supervisor in the Department of Psychology, helping train doctoral students in clinical psychology.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked on the front lines of mental health care, supporting patients, families, healthcare workers, and communities through a time of profound uncertainty.
